1. Internal Radio Nets. Single-channel radio communications are the
primary means used to provide internal command and control of the
battalion.
These radio nets exist for the different types of
divisional MI battalions.
MI battalions in airborne, air assault,
and light divisions may have reduced capabilities due to mission
requirements and organizational differences.
a. The battalion command/operations net (FM voice) is used by the
battalion commander for command, control, and coordination.
A
diagram of the net is at Figure 2-1.
There must be effective
coordination among the elements in this net to ensure a successful
mission. All stations must enter as soon as possible to keep abreast
of ever-changing developments.
