b. Except for a splice to a ground rod or to a No. 6 ground wire or as strapping between
protectors, the ground wire must be in one piece.
c. The protector ground wire and the instrument wires may be in contact with each other at
times and may pass through the same holes, conduits, etc. Do not twist inside wires and ground wires
together.

Drop wire.
You are now ready to install the drop wire from the cable mounted on the telephone pole to
the protector. You can install it from the protector to the cable or the other way around. I will be
installing the wire from the protector to the ready access terminal, Figure 39, on the cable near the pole
to be climbed.
