Learning Event 3:
LOCATE AND DESCRIBE ORGANIZATIONAL LUBRICATION POINTS
1.
Lubrication must be performed at a regular interval to keep the moving parts from wearing
excessively.
CAUTION: When lubricating, make sure that no grease is
applied to the lenses, the film stage bridge, or the negative
carriers.
2.
The symbol Q means quarterly (every 3 months). A month consists of 30 days of normal 8-hour
operation. If the equipment is operated more than 8 hours a day, the lubrication intervals should be adjusted
accordingly. FOR EXAMPLE: If the equipment is operated 24 hours a day instead of 8, the printer will have
to be lubricated monthly instead of quarterly.
3.
Clean the areas to be lubricated (fig 1-2) with a clean lint free cloth or a brush dipped in cleaning
compound. Thoroughly dry the cleaned areas before applying the lubricant.
