b. Replacement.
(1) Prepare the ends of the new power cable so that they are the same as the ends of the power
cable (6) that was removed.
(2) Solder the terminals (7) to the prepared end of the power cable.
(3) Feed the end of the power cable (6) that has the terminals (7) through the cable clamp (8).
Allow sufficient slack so that the power cable can be connected to the circuit breaker (9) without strain on
the terminals.
(4) Tighten the screws of the cable clamp (8), which secures the power cable (6) to the drier
frame.
(5) Connect the two terminals to the circuit breaker (9).
(6) Mount the control box cover (3) and secure it with the screws (1) and lockwashers (2).
(7) Slide the power tag (5) onto the power cable (6).
(8) Attach the connector plug (4) to the free end of the power cable.
(9) Reconnect the connector plug to the power source.

Replacing the power cable on the EL-5(2) (fig. 3-20).
a. Removal.
(1) Disconnect the connector plug (5) from the power source.
(2) Remove the connector plug from the power cable (6).
(3) Remove the screws (3), the lockwashers (4), and the control box cover (1).
(4) Tag and disconnect the terminals (7) from the terminal board (10).
(5) Loosen the locknut (8) and pull the power cable (6) through the clamp (9).
(6) Unsolder and remove the terminals (7) from the power cable (6).
b. Replacement.
(1) Prepare the ends of the new power cable so that they are the same as the ends of the power
cable (6) that was removed.
(2) Solder the terminals (7) to one end of the power cable (6).
