Figure 2.
(1) The frequency selection controls select and display
operating frequencies. The system automatically tunes (when PUSH-TO-
TALK [PTT] switch on handset is operated) to selected frequency for
all changes except 100 Hz (farthest right push button).
Each push
button changes the digit displayed directly above it by adding 1 to
the displayed number.
There are 280,000 frequencies available
between 2 and 29,999.9 MHz.
(2) The sideband selector switch selects USB or LSB modulation
of the selected carrier frequency.
Either position can be used for
voice and data signals; modulation must be the same as that used by
distant communicating radio.
(3) The ON/OFF VOLUME control provides and removes the
operating power for the system. Clockwise rotation switches on power
and increases volume in handset earpiece connected to AUDIO jack and
to speaker in amplifier-converter when in VOICE mode.
V-RCV (voice-receive) is for receiving voice, CW, or
teleprinter signals.
V-TR (voice-transmit/receive) is for transmitting and
receiving voice, CW, or teletypewriter signals.
D-TR (data-transmit/receive) is for transmitting and
receiving data signals.
D-RCV (data-receive) is for receiving data signals only.
