INSTALL AND REINSTALL AN/PRC-104(A) and AN/GRC-213
OBJECTIVE
Upon completion of this lesson, you will be able to install and reinstall
the AN/GRC-213 radio set in a tactical vehicle.

This lesson is based on TM 11-5820-923-12 and other material approved for US
Army instruction.
However, development and progress render the text
continually subject to change. Therefore, base your examination answers on
material presented in this lesson rather than on individual or unit
experience.
1.
INTRODUCTION. As an organizational maintenance person, your unit will
depend on your ability to properly install and reinstall the mounting kit
for the AN/GRC-213 radio set.
This set is a high-frequency low-power
transceiver designed for use on wheeled or tracked vehicles. The frequency
range extends from 2 to 29.9999 megahertz (MHz).
Antenna tuning is done
electronically and automatically for any of the three antennas supplied with
the set.
The major components of the AN/GRC-213 radio set are radio set
AN/PRC-104(A) and amplifier-power supply AM-7152/GRC-213 (see Figure 1).

VERIFICATION
OF
INSTALLATION
KIT.
It
is
an
organizational
responsibility to verify the proper installation of the installation kit
before mounting the equipment. You must verify that the installation kit is
properly installed.
Instructions for the MK-2447/GRC-213 installation kit
are used as an illustration for this lesson. Installation kit instructions
for other vehicles can be found in TM 11-2300-476-14&P.
All questions in
this subcourse will be based on the use of the MK-2447/GRC-213 installation
kit. You should familiarize yourself with the following instructions so you
will recognize any deviation when the kit is
