STEP 4.
Install the antenna support (A) with six 1/4-inch x 3/4-
inch bolts, six 1/4-inch lock washers, six 1/4-inch nuts,
and twelve 1/4-inch flat washers (B).
d. Perform steps 1 through 10 for antenna base installation (see Figure
5).

STEP 1.
Remove enough paint around the mounting hole on the inside
of the vehicle (for vehicle top installations) or the
underside of the mounting hole on the antenna support (for
all other installations) to permit the grounding ring (A)
(part of the mast base) to touch bare metal.
STEP 2.
Lightly coat the bare metal around the mounting hole with
graphite grease.
STEP 3.
Carefully unscrew the two insulator subassemblies of the
mast base by hand.
STEP 4.
Place
the
upper
insulator
subassembly
(B)
and
the
accompanying rubber gasket (C) over the mounting hole on
the
outside
top
of
the
vehicle
(for
vehicle
top
installations) or over the mounting hole on the outside top
of
the
antenna
support
assembly
(for
all
other
installations).
