Multiplexer set TD-202/U
(5) Multiplexer set TD-204/U. The TD-204 is a 12/24/48-channel
TDM-PCM cable transmission interface unit.
TD-204 conditions the
input and output signal of a TDM multiplexer for transmission over
coaxial cable. Its transmit section accepts TDM-PCM signals from one
or two TD-352s, a TD-202, or another TD-204, and processes them for
cable transmission.
The receive section accepts a TDM-PCM signal
from a transmission cable and processes and retimes it.
Radio-to-cable conversion stations and attended cable repeater
stations use the TD-204. Radio-to-cable conversion stations require
one TD-204, and attended cable repeater stations require two TD-204s.
The TD-204 provides power for up to 39 pulse form restorers TD-206 in
the transmission line.
The TD-204 measures 8.5" X 17" X 20" and
weighs 56 pounds. Figure 1-11 illustrates the TD-204/U.
