Components.
As discussed previously, there are four groups of ATACS multichannel
sets.
For the purpose of this subcourse, we concern ourselves only
with the low capacity and medium capacity groups.
The following,
paragraphs describe and discuss many components used in low and
medium capacity multichannel radio systems.
a. Multiplexers.
The type and capability of the multiplexer
selected for a given configuration is critical.
To a large extent,
the multiplexer determines the capability of the assemblage.
The
following paragraphs describe some multiplexers commonly used in low
and medium capacity multichannel radio systems.
