b. Assembly.
(1) Place the counterbalance spring (1) on the girder spacer (21).
(2) Secure the counterbalance spring in place with the screw (2), the nut (3), and the lockwasher
(4).
(3) Pull out the counterbalance spring clip (9) and attach it to the roller shaft of the carriage
assembly.

Replacement of lens board springs (fig. 1-5).
a. Removal.
(1) Remove the projection lens set.
(2) Remove the adjusting screw (16).
(3) Remove the two screws (17) and separate the lens board spring (10) from the focusing bridge
(18).
b. Assembly.
(1) Position the lens board spring (10) on the focusing bridge (18) and secure it with the screws
(17).
(2) Replace the adjusting screw (16).
(3) Replace the projection lens set. Adjust the setting of the adjusting screws (16) until the
projection lens set is secure but is easily removed or replaced.
6.
Replacement of Brake Block (fig. 1-5).
a. Removal.
(1) Remove the carriage locking knob (15).
(2) Remove the screw (13) and the lockwasher (14); remove the brake block (]2).
b. Assembly.
(1) Position the brake block (12) on the girder and secure it in place with the screw (13) and the
lockwasher (14).
(2) Screw the carriage locking knob (15) into the brake block.
(3) Check the locking action of the carriage locking knob and the brake block.
