INSTALLATION AND PREPARATION FOR USE.
The following instructions
refer to installing the AN/GRC-213 radio set after you have verified the
from the battery to the AM-7152/GRC-213 and secure connection of grounds are
critical.
a. Unpacking. The following subparagraphs have unpacking instructions
for the AN/GRC-213.
(1) AN/PRC-104(A). (See Figure 11.) The AN/PRC-104(A) is contained,
transported, and stored in a transit case. The transit case normally should
be kept closed.
To unpack the equipment, unfasten the four latches and
remove the transit case cover. Each of the individual pieces of equipment
fits in a molded space in the case. Check to ensure that the equipment is
complete by referring to the equipment supply list in TM 11-5820-919-12.
Inspect the equipment for any damage incurred during shipment.
The
receiver-exciter, amplifier-coupler, continuous wave (cw) key, and handset
are the components normally used for the AN/GRC-213.
Other equipment
supplied in the transit case is for manpack operation (TM 11-5820-919-12)
and should be stored in the transit case. AN/PRC-104(A) maintenance will be
discussed with its configuration later in the lesson.
The amplifier-
standard packages sufficient to provide adequate protection from shock and
freight damage.
Verify that all items listed on the packing lists are
present. Inspect the equipment for any damage incurred during shipment.
