(a) The send and receive directions of a 2-wire circuit handled by a
single vertical column of jacks, or jack set.
A 2-wire circuit requires
only one jack set as shown in figure 1-3 and 1-4, and a 4-wire circuit
requires two jack sets as shown in the block and schematic diagram of figure
1-5. The 2-wire and 4-wire circuits will not be mixed on the same patching
module.
